Memories of Janet by Aunty Beryl

My memories of Janet are mainly family gatherings at Falllowfield Road when Christmas always began when David and I and the children visited the Sunday before Christmas. Then later on Janet bought her Mother to visit. One such time David and I had booked to go to Turners for one of their Christmas do’s. Nan decided she wasn’t going – it was a place she didn’t know and there would be people she didn’t know. It took a lot of persuading but she came with us. Janet, David and I had her up and dancing in the middle of us. We all had a good time and she told many people about it on her return home.

Later still Janet would come and stay with David and I and she would join in whatever we were doing. I have a photo of her and David dancing at a New Year’s Eve dance.
She bounced in and out of our lives, always ready for the next event. When she went to visit Graham and Rosemary in NZ, she still travelled to see as much as she could, and couldn’t wait to have a go on the Quad bike they had. I have a nice photo of her on it.

As you see there are no specific memories of Janet, she was just there, being Janet.
